Monkeys attack good samaritan who tried to help; not all good deeds are repaid with kindness

GOOD deeds aren’t always repaid with kindness, especially when you are dealing with a bunch of animals that don’t think the way you do.

Perhaps this statement is best illustrated by a recent video where a man decided to pick up a dead mother monkey and her child. From the video it was obvious that the both of them were killed after being hit by a passing vehicle.

Likely he was trying to move them away from the busy streets. What happened moments later was equally surprising. Several monkeys, which appeared to be related to the dead ones, decided to attack him instead, thinking that he was trying to hurt them.

Hilariously, he even tried to reason with them by pointing towards the passing vehicles as the culprit. But with the monkeys, you know that is not going to work unless it is a transaction that involves a good deal of bananas. They even chased after him when he wanted to remove the dead monkey infant from the road.

Netizen @hanafi_jafri who watched the video said this was why he did not sympathise with the monkeys. From the aggression displayed, we are not surprised that there are quite a number of cases involving humans being attacked by monkeys either.

In Nov 2024, a mother and her child were attacked by monkeys in Petaling Jaya. According to The Star, a 10-year-old girl in Seremban, Negri Sembilan also sustained injuries to her leg after she was attacked by a monkey in the compound of her house in Taman Warisan Puteri last year in Oct.

Now as this video is being circulated, it does make us ponder if the monkeys should be dealt with sternly or should animal kindness prevail even when human lives are at stake. —Oct 7, 2025
