GLOBAL Human Rights Federation led a group of nearly 60 people to lodge police reports against Islamic preacher Syakir Nasoha again, following exposes of more videos of him disparaging non-Muslims emerge.
NGO president S Shashikumar said his team and other like-minded individuals lodged reports over three videos featuring Syakir’s speech, including one made after the first mass police reports were lodged.
“Recently, the police urged the public not to speculate on the matter and allow them to conduct their probe.
“But Syakir himself produced a video on Oct 8, after the first reports were lodged on Oct 3, again disparaging non-Muslims. He must be arrested immediately,” he told FocusM.
Elaborating on the latest reports, Shashikumar said it was in regards to three videos; one a Youtube vide uploaded in Oct 2020 and two Facebook live footages produced on Oct 1 and Oct 8 this year.
On the Youtube video entitled “Lemahnya Kita” (How weak we are) which runs for 45 minutes 43 seconds, Syakir was found disparaging Hinduism in the 10th minute onwards.
“He said that Islam is the only pure and original religion while Hinduism is the religion of the infidels, which is a false belief.
“Syakir also said that Hinduism is heresy and has been like that since the beginning,” Shashikumar stated.
As for the Oct 1 video, Syakir was found to be defending his remarks but repeated a racial slur in it.
He said that non-Muslims are immigrants in this country and the Malays are owners of the Malaysian soil. Syakir also questioned why Christians are on the rise in Malaysia and more churches were being built in the country.
“Syakir accused the infidels of promoting Islamophobia among the populace. On that note, he also said that Muslims should not be respecting other religions as only Islam is the true religion while the rest are not.
“He added that one cannot preach unity based on religion but only based on the race. Syakir stated that Muslims can only respect the person but not their religion because they don’t exist or accepted by Islam.
“Syakir stated that it was wrong to promote tolerance towards other religions apart from Islam and the authorities must control the spread of non-Islamic religion and their houses of worship,” Shashikumar mentioned.

On third the Facebook video posted on Oct 8 (30 minutes and 18 seconds), Syakir again made inflammatory statements against the non-Muslims from the 10th minute onward despite police reports lodged against him.
“Syakir said that non-Islamic believers are dangerous and a threat to Muslims and to the religion of Islam, where the non-Muslims has joined hands together to attack and destroy Islam.
“He also said that it is wrong to say all religions should be treated with equal respect and never let the infidels to undermine Muslims,” the NGO leader quipped.
On that note, Shashikumar criticised the Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM), the National Unity Ministry and Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) for keeping mum over Syakir’s attacks on the minorities in Malaysia.
“So far, only DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng has raised the matter at the Parliament. The rest are absolutely silent about it, which is very shameful,” he remarked. – Oct 10, 2021.
