Muhyiddin continues victim’s plight with ‘sleepless’ nights claim

FORMER prime minister and Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, revealed that he is having a hard time sleeping at night after hearing the six charges of abuse of power and money laundering against him.

Muhyiddin also revealed that his wife and children were having difficulty sleeping as well.

He admitted to feeling anxious and constantly worried, especially after reading news about his charges.

Muhyiddin’s comments come as the Bersatu leadership continues to rally around him and urge him to remain in command of the party despite the charges against him.

The party’s former information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan said they all agreed that Muhyiddin should not need to step down just because he had been charged.

This is contrary to what Muhyiddin said about others who are not from his party and were charged but remained in their posts, some netizens are saying.

Bersatu’s annual general assembly is taking place from March 10–12, and Muhyiddin made a surprise appearance at the event to cheer from hundreds of Bersatu Youth.

The party’s youth wing declared that they would defend their leader at all costs, and urged him to stay strong.

Muhyiddin was charged with four counts of abuse of power involving a total of RM232.5 mil in gratification and two counts of money laundering involving RM195 mil. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Commenting on Muhyiddin’s sleepless nights, Twitter user @PasolaOfficial wrote:

“Now we know why Abah can’t sleep”

The user also alleges the following:

“DID YOU KNOW: The owner of Mamfor Sdn Bhd who bribed TS Muhyiddin Yassin amounting to RM 19,500,000.00 is the son of the owner of Ditamas Sdn Bhd who was once involved in the RM273 mil corruption case of former Selangor MB Khir Toyo. worth it!”

Another user @juliaAssagof said:

“Millions of people in Msia could not sleep when TS (Muhyiddin) became PM.. Couldn’t sleep because their stomachs were empty.. thinking about how do we go on about life.. TS slept soundly during that time and had the time to think about generating income. Now suffer.”

User @theflarefins said he was expecting such stories to come out in support of Muhyiddin.

“As predicted, stories like this will come out.. relax, don’t panic. If you are right, why worry? The old saying goes ‘be brave if you’re right, fear if you’re guilty’. Relax, bring out all the evidence at court.” — March 12, 2023
