“Muhyiddin getting insecure, Ahmad Faizal to back him up!”

A FORMER Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) leader claimed that party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin appointed Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu as his special adviser due to insecurities.

“One must ponder on why Muhyiddin is wasting money on Ahmad Faizal, who was ousted from Perak menter besar chair by his own coalition members, at the expense of risking his already nosediving popularity among the masses.

“Everyone knows Ahmad Faizal is a novice, politically speaking. If not for the respect Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders had for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, he would not have become menteri besar.

“The answer is obvious. Muhyiddin has no one he can trust not only within Perikatan Nasional (PN) but within Bersatu itself,” A Kadir Jasin said, in a Facebook post.

As the prime minister is facing mutiny from ally Umno, Muhyiddin appointed Ahmad Faizal as his special adviser last week, with a ministerial rank.

In December last year, Ahmad Faizal was ousted as Perak menteri besar after a no-confidence vote was initiated against him. Even his allies from Umno voted against him.

Many speculated then that the Tambun MP was being groomed for a federal post, but nothing transpired back then.

“Pack of wolves” after Muhyiddin?

A Kadir Jasin

Elaborating on his points, Kadir claimed that Muhyiddin may be facing a revolt within Bersatu itself, especially from those who crossed over from Umno and PKR.

“These ‘species’ are far more intelligent and vicious compared to the original Bersatu members who lack political experience and ‘killer instincts’.

“Therefore, I believe Ahmad Faizal will serve as Muhyiddin’s Mossad or Gestapo in Bersatu. The prime minister needs to protect himself from the pack wolves originating from PKR and Umno,” the veteran newsman stated.

As for the original Bersatu members, Kadir said the former were losing confidence in Muhyiddin’s leadership due to the party president’s over-dependence on those from PKR and Umno.

“And Muhyiddin’s attitude towards the Yang di-Pertuan Agong recently had Bersatu’s original members worried of being accused of insolence against the monarch,” he concluded. – Aug 8, 2021.
