Netizens have mixed feelings on the PATI crackdown in Malaysia

NETIZENS are having mixed reactions towards the crackdown on illegal migrants known as PATI (pendatang asing tanpa izin) in Malaysia and some are showing sympathy to these migrants while others are asking for a total deletion of illegal migrants from the country.

Some are also questioning how these people were able to come into our country in the first place.

According to reports, authorities raided a place called ‘Mini Dhaka’ on Silang Street, detaining 1,101 undocumented foreign nationals, including two children, after complaints about crime and an influx of foreigners.

Kuala Lumpur’s police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majeed led the operation, seizing contraband worth RM104,530.

Nevertheless, a Twitter user is asking the reasons why there are so many of these migrants in our country coming in illegally.

(No need to look far, other countries also have foreign workers. Singapore has 3R foreign workers, but why do they have complete documentation? Is it due to:

(1. Political involvement?
(2. Leaks?
(3. Insider betrayal?)

Following that, some are not fond of these illegal migrants coming into Malaysia.

(The nation cannot save face. A few of them are hypocrites; in front of us, they portray themselves as the most Islamic and patriotic. Yet, behind our backs, they engage in various illicit activities – smuggling goods, concealing controlled items, not to mention traffic and public space violations.)

However, some defend these illegal migrants as they feel it’s the fault of Malaysians themselves. Twitter user mss @amersudin stated: – Dec 23, 2023
