New COVID-19 cases in M’sia slightly rising with Omicron variant

MALAYSIA recorded 5,528 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday (Dec 4), with 23 of them being imported cases.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country since the pandemic started now stands at 2,643,620.

The site also showed that 5,301 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, with a total of 2,556,554 patients discharged since the COVID-19 outbreak began.

There were also 17 fatalities recorded with four patients brought in dead (BID), bringing the death toll to 30,538.

The total number of active cases in the country is now at 62,486, with 81.5% of them (50,925) being subjected to home quarantine.

Additionally, 230 people are being treated in intensive care units (ICUs), with 269 COVID-19 patients in need of ventilator support. – Dec 4, 2021
