DESPITE Malaysia’s continued high number of new COVID-19 cases, the Government will not impose a ‘full lockdown’.
According to the Health Ministry, the country recorded 4,571 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 231,483.
Additionally, within the last 24-hours, there were 17 COVID-19 related deaths, totalling up to 826 fatalities.
Out of the 48,771 currently active COVID-19 cases, 308 of the patients are in intensive care units while 135 are still requiring ventilator support.
The good news is, there were 4,092 patients discharged today, adding to the 181,886 patients that have recovered.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin held a live telecast to announce that the Government will not be imposing a ‘full lockdown’ for the sake of balancing between the lives of the rakyat and their livevlihoods.
However, he issued a stern warning to business operators to strongly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs). – Feb 04, 2021
