NOW everyone can eat buffet, or at least at Amcorp Mall in Petaling Jaya. At a time when food prices are rising and economic woes take centre stage, a restaurant decides to go against the norm by providing a sumptuous option of Malay delicacies at an affordable price.
That restaurant is Faridah Kitchenz, where customers can have an unlimited helping of rice, dishes, drinks and desserts at a mere RM10.
Even more interesting was the fact that the restaurant provides a whopping choice of 40 items daily. By 12pm, the food would be sold out.
In a video on X by netizen @bestfoodmy, the commentator in the video asked the lady if she made a profit from this business.

According to her, the happiness of her customers is her profit. Speaking to Sin Chew Daily, owner Atiqah shared that the restaurant is named after her mother, Faridah, who was also the driving force behind the RM10 unlimited buffet concept.
The eatery has since cultivated a loyal customer base, with many patrons returning several times a week.
Some have even told the family that the affordable meals helped them cope during financially challenging periods, making the business more meaningful than simply serving food.
According to Atiqah, the buffet-style concept was adopted to streamline operations by avoiding individual meal orders while keeping prices affordable and transparent.
Today, Faridah Kitchenz welcomes about 400 diners daily from all walks of life, attracting Malaysians of different ethnic backgrounds.
Customers are also encouraged to return their trays and clear their tables after dining, helping the restaurant keep manpower requirements low. Atiqah said more than half of diners willingly lend a hand.
The business remains entirely family-run. Her mother oversees the kitchen, Atiqah manages front-of-house operations, her father transports food from the central kitchen to the outlet, while her younger siblings assist wherever needed, both in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor.
This hands-on approach has enabled the family to keep operating costs under control.
In an era where rising living costs have made dining out increasingly expensive, the family’s simple philosophy proves that generosity can still thrive. It appears that kindness can still be found, one RM10 meal at a time.—July 7, 2026
