“PAS is solely to blame for the sorry state of Kelantan today”

WHO is responsible for the poor water quality, narrow and potholed road and uncollected garbage in Kelantan if it is not PAS which had govern Kelantan for over half a century?

Recently, there was a desultory controversy over the poor water quality, narrow and potholed road and uncollected garbage in Kelantan between the Community Communication Department (J-KOM) director-general Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff and the Kelantan PAS Youth which did not produce any answers.

The question remains valid and open as to who is responsible for the poor water quality, narrow and potholed road and uncollected garbage in Kelantan if not PAS which had governed Kelantan for over half a century.

The next question to ask is what the plans are for the PAS State Government to resolve these long-standing problems of the people of Kelantan.

Editor’s note: It is estimated that Kelantan needs a whopping RM7 bil to fully resolve the state’s water problem. Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said this problem had been a thorn on the side of the state government for decades and that it does not have ample funds to address the water issue.

“Previously, the cost needed to resolve the problem was about RM2 bil but now, it has ballooned to RM7 bil,” the Panchor assemblyman said in a reply to an additional question from Datuk Mohd Adhan Kechik (BN-Bukit Bunga) at the state assembly sitting on Nov 24.

“The state government has adopted various measures over the last 30 years to address the problem. But we have financial constraint.”

Added Mohd Amar: “We were supposed to get RM2 bil from the federal government under the water migration project in 2016 but unfortunately we did not receive the allocation due to technical and political issues.” – April 28, 2023
