Pro-opposition Muslim NGO wants Agong to remove three non-Muslim ministers for disrespecting Islam

LITTLE known NGO Pertubuhan Kebajikan Amal Sejagat (PKAS) has requested the intervention of the His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim King of Malaysia to remove three non-Muslim ministers in the unity government for undermining the integrity of Islam.

Its chairman Izzat Johari accused Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon of having belittled the issue pertaining to the “Allah” inscription on socks sold by 24-hour convenience chain KK Super Mart.

“Kor Ming is indeed a cursed infidel that need to be gotten rid of,” Izzat who contested as an independent candidate for the Tanjung Malim parliamentary constituency during the 15th General Election (GE15) told a media conference in Kuala Lumpur yesterday (March 20).

“He can even treat this as a small issue and blamed the Muslims for turning this into an issue. I would like to urge the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) to strip them of their positions immediately for meddling in Islamic matters.”

In a fiery tone, Izzat further defended UMNO Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh as only having stood up to protect the integrity of Islam while Nga, Loke, Tiong and Chong have politicised the matter by claiming that the Merlimau state assemblyman has been making racist slur.

In the latest development, Dr Akmal is now confronted by ‘leadership crisis’ within UMNO Youth as pressure mounts following a sex scandal involving a Johor UMNO Youth leader.

It was reported that at least six boys were said to be the victims of the UMNO Youth leader who had been arrested since Monday (March 18) and will be charged soon. The suspect is said to be active in NGO work and had frequently brought the teenage victims to join along the activities.

Netizens who are already incensed with the Melaka executive councillor’s extreme posturing on the KK Super Mart issue wasted no time linking him with a sex scandal involving a Johor UMNO Youth leader.

Many netizens are having a field day comparing Dr Akmal’s extreme reaction by demanding “apology banners to be hoisted at all 881 KK Super Mart outlets nationwide” with his treatment towards the alleged sexual crime perpetrated by one of his underlings.

Whatever said and done, the Russia-trained medical doctor who has been echoing pro-opposition narratives rather than toeing the line in the spirit of the unity government has expressed his preparedness to lose his position than to give up his responsibility to defend Islam in the “Allah” socks controversy issue.

Speaking to Utusan Malaysia, Dr Akmal said he remains unfazed by other party leaders’ reprimand on the issue as he was confident that his actions were in line with UMNO’s struggle to defend the rights and dignity of Malays and Muslims. – March 21, 2024
