Ramkarpal: Second test on Terence Naidu’s urine sample found no traces of drugs

A SECOND test conducted on Pasir Bedamar state assemblyman Terence Naidu’s urine sample found no traces of the drugs mentioned in the preliminary test conducted by the police, said his counsel Ramkarpal Singh.

“I was informed by Terence that he did a second test at O2 Clinic branch in Penang, on Jan 15, as he was dissatisfied with the initial test conducted by the police on Jan 13, which found traces of four types of drugs in his urine sample.

“As the police had rejected his request for a second test, he took his own initiative to send samples to O2 Clinic. After being analysed by Pathlab, it was found that the urine sample had no traces of the said drugs,” he claimed.

Last week, the media went abuzz over claims that several people being caught in a drug fuelled gathering held at a club in Penang.

It was later revealed that several police officers and Terence was caught at the club, with the police claiming that the DAP leader’s urine sample tested positive for drugs.

Further probe needed

However, on Jan 15, Terence insisted that he had not consumed any drugs. He also alleged that his drink was spiked by an unknown individual while he took a toilet break.

He had lodged a police report on the matter on Jan 14 saying there was an eye witness who saw the unknown individual spiking his drink.

On that note, Ramkarpal said that Terence had lodged another police report at the Seberang Perai Tengah district police headquarters yesterday for further investigation on the matter.

“From the latest test results, it is clear that case needs further probe by the police in the interest of justice. Terence will cooperate with the police on the matter,” the Bukit Gelugor MP remarked. – Jan 20, 2022.
