Report: I didn’t receive funds from UKSB, Khairy says

AFTER a controversial expose during former deputy minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s corruption trial went abuzz, another minister has come forth to deny receiving funds from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB).

According to Free Malaysia Today, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin dismissed claims that he had receive money from the company.

“I have never received anything personally, whether money or political funds. I am ready to cooperate if I get summoned (by the authorities).

“I don’t receive political funds,” he was reported as saying.

On June 17, a former administrative manager of UKSB told the High Court that former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and former Sabah chief minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal had received monies from the company.

Apart from Khairy, the ex-manager, David Tan, also implicated former foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

While Tan did not mention the sum received by other leaders, he specified that Muhyiddin got RM1.3 mil between June and August 2018, while serving as home minister under the Pakatan Harapan administration.

To date, only Khairy, Muhyiddin and Anifah had rebutted the claims but two days ago, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) announced that it would investigate all the individuals mentioned by Tan. – June 21, 2022
