WHILE yesterday’s number of new COVID-19 cases reaching the 20,000 mark, today was a little bit better, reducing the number to 19,740 cases.
The number of COVID-19-related deaths have also gone down slightly within the last 24 hours, with 274 today against 282 yesterday, bringing the total to 12,784.
Additionally, there were 17,450 patients successfully discharged today. The total of COVID-19 patients that have recovered from the virus is now at 1,162,578.– Aug 16, 2021
