THE Health Ministry announced 1,683 new COVID-19 infections and three deaths in the past 24 hours.
In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 2,506 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 291,958.
“We have a total number of 313,460 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, three people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 1,169,” he added.
All those who lost their lives were Malaysians.
Selangor detected the highest number of infections today at 746, followed by Sarawak (201) and Johor (172).
On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected eight new clusters in the country.
Five of them are workplace related, two detention centres and the other is community based.
“With that, we have 472 active clusters. Like yesterday, fourteen clusters have ended today. Three clusters that contributed to the high number of cases today are Perusahaan 10 (55), Industri Subang (44) and Kemuning Enam (44),” he remarked. – March 7, 2021.
