United Nations statistics have indicated that at least 74 journalists across the globe were killed so far this year. Attacks on media could threaten press freedom, especially in areas with limited news coverage.
Among those killed is Al Jazeera’s Shireen Abu Akleh who was shot dead by Israeli forces on May 11, 2022.
