Water supply resumes in 1,185 areas

WATER supply have resumed in 1,185 (93%) areas out of the 1,279 areas affected by the unscheduled water disruption, as at 6pm today.

The remaining 94 areas where water supply has not fully recovered, will be receiving their supply in stages, said Pengurusan Air Selangor today.

Areas in where water supply has been restored are Petaling Jaya (99.3%), Klang/Shah Alam (72%), Gombak (87%), Kuala Lumpur (99.2%), Hulu Selangor (91%), Kuala Langat (80%) and Kuala Selangor (99.6%).

“During this unscheduled water disruption period, Air Selangor appreciates the assistance from local municipal councils who have sent their support water tankers to us,” it said in a statement.

The dispatched water tankers are: one from Majlis Perbandaran Sepang (MPS), one from Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ), two from Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA), three from Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ) and four from Majlis Perbandaran Kajang (MPK).

“For those who are still affected by the disruption, alternative water supply relief are still available from public water taps and Pusat Khidmat Setempat,” it added.

On Tuesday, more than one million consumers in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat suffered unscheduled water disruption after operations at the Sungai Selangor Phase 1,2, 3 and Rantau Panjang treatment plants had to be stopped following an odour pollution at Sungai Selangor.
