Yeo’s steps up to help those affected by pandemic

AS a company with deep roots in Malaysia, Yeo Hiap Seng (Malaysia) Bhd (Yeo’s) extended a helping hand to support families at this critical juncture.

Therefore, the leading food and beverage company has launched Yeo’s Helping Hands, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, aimed at furthering the company’s efforts to reach out to communities in need.

Under Yeo’s Helping Hands – a partnership with Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation – with RM1 mil being channelled for this initiative, will see food packs being distributed to about 28,000 B40 families affected by COVID-19.

Each of these households will receive a pack of essential food items and signature items such as Yeo’s canned food, Cintan instant noodles and Yeo’s beverages.

In addition, the Petaling Jaya-based company is also working closely with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, Refuge for the Refugees, St. John Ambulance of Malaysia, Persatuan Kesejahteraan Rakyat Malaysia and other charity organisations to ensure that the food packs can be distributed quickly through their existing networks and reach families, residing in various parts of the country.

“We will continue to find ways to serve and care for our community,” Yeo’s group CEO Samuel Koh said.

On related matter, Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation said that it was delighted to be part of a community service during these trying times.

“It is important for us to support in any way we can. More than ever before, we need to join hands as one community and care for each other to weather the challenge together,” the foundation’s director Daryl Ng commented. – July 18, 2021.
