Sabah PH warns racial issues played by opposition may harm investment

SABAH Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairperson Datuk Christina Liew criticised the opposition for using racial issues to undermine the economy and create discord among ethnic groups.

She claimed that the opposition’s efforts to destabilise the government through propaganda are meant to weaken the nation’s stability and affect tourism and investment.

Liew praised the unity government for its strong economic performance and growing tourism sector. She vowed to continue strengthening the unity government in Sabah and reaffirmed her loyalty to the party and its president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“This is what the opposition is doing today, playing racial sentiments severely. They are trying to divide the people with accusations that create tension between races and religions.

“They know they cannot topple the government because we have support from all sides, so they create propaganda to stir tensions, resulting in tourists avoiding the country and investors doubting our nation’s stability.

“That is why we are grateful to our Perpaduan Government partners. Malaysia’s economy is among the strongest in the region, and tourist numbers increase every year,” she said in a speech at the Himpunan Perdana Rakyat Sabah. – Aug 4, 2024
