KUALA TERENGGANU, 23 Mei -- Bekalan ayam mentah sukar diperoleh menyebabkan rata-rata peniaga menjual ayam pada harga sekitar RM11 hingga RM13 sekilogram.

Peniaga, Roslan Ali, 39, ketika ditemui semasa tinjauan Bernama di Kuala Ibai di sini, berkata kenaikan harga bukanlah disebabkan peniaga sengaja mengambil kesempatan, namun sememangnya ia berlaku akibat kekurangan bekalan.

Media sebelum ini melaporkan bahawa kekurangan bekalan ayam di pasaran disebabkan kartel ayam bertindak memberhentikan operasi ladang, sekali gus mengakibatkan kekurangan bekalan ayam di pasaran.

Menerusi laporan berkenaan, alasan yang diberikan adalah ayam di ladang belum mencapai berat jualan akibat masalah penggemukan ayam terjejas.
