COVID-19: Cases see slight increase; Selangor still top of the list with 4,404 cases

MALAYSIA recorded a daily infection rate of 10,972 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 927,533.

This is the seventh consecutive day where fresh infections are above 10,000.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 6,439 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 791,388.

“129 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 7,148,” he added.

Selangor continued to record the highest number of fresh cases with 4,404 infections, followed by Negeri Sembilan (1,340) and Johor (876).

“Of the current active cases, 915 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 435 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 19, 2021.
