COVID-19: Death toll down with over 5k recoveries

EARLIER today, Health Ministry’s CovidNow website indicated 29 deaths for yesterday, bringing total fatality to 31,073.

“Of the current active cases, 391 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 215 of them in need of ventilator support,” the site indicated.

As of yesterday, Malaysia recorded 4,049 infections, bringing the cumulative total to 2,709,557.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 5,435 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 2,630,680.

Selangor recorded the highest death toll with 15 deaths, followed by W.P Labuan (15), Klang Valley( 15) and W.P. Kuala Lumpur (15). — Dec 19, 2021
