COVID-19: Nine fresh clusters, new cases above 3k mark

THE Health Ministry has reported 3,306 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a statement today, Health Ministry’s director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also said that there were 2,293 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 122,344.

“The total number of infections now stands at 161,740. Unfortunately, four people have lost their lives, bringing the total number of fatalities to 605,” he said.

Those who died today were locals, aged between 59 and 91, and suffered from pre-existing medical conditions.

Selangor recorded the highest number of new infections at 1,213, followed by Sabah (432) and Johor (329).

On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that nine new clusters have been discovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of active clusters to 299.

The nine clusters are:

  • Taman Tasik Sungai Chua (Selangor)
  • Kompleks Segamaha (Sabah)
  • Jalan Bukit Bendera (Sabah)
  • Jalan Suria (Johor)
  • Jalan Nipah construction site (Kuala Lumpur)
  • Era Duta construction site (Kuala Lumpur)
  • Pulau Lima (Kelantan)
  • Jalan TJ (Negeri Sembilan)
  • Kafe Genting (Pahang)
