Bersatu reiterates decision to leave Pakatan Harapan

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has reiterated its decision to leave Pakatan Harapan (PH) and forge on with Perikatan Nasional (PN).

In a statement today, Bersatu said that as per its Supreme Council meeting on Feb 23, the party remains resolute in leaving PH.

The statement was signed by all key Supreme Council and state representatives including the likes of Home Minister and party secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Datuk Rais Hussin, Perak MB Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Special Functions Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.

The party also reiterated its support to the PN government as well as Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also Bersatu president.

This latest decision leaves the status of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as party chairman wide open, as well as the fate of his faction in the party, which has been deemed aligned to PH. – May 19, 2020
