Maybank to issue yuan-denominated bonds on SGX

Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) will be issuing 200 mil yuan worth of 2.9% fixed-rate notes due 2025 to be listed on the Singapore Exchange Ltd’s (SGX) Bond Market from 9am tomorrow.

The notes will be quoted and traded in yuan, the Malaysian banking group said in an SGX filing today. Maybank is the largest listed group on the Bursa Malaysia.

“The notes will be in denomination of 2 million yuan and integral multiples of 2 million yuan. The notes will be traded in a minimum board lot size of 200,000 yuan with a minimum of 10 lots to be traded in a single transaction,” Maybank said.

The lead managers and bookrunners of the notes are Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and Maybank Kim Eng Securities Pte Ltd, added Maybank.

Maybank shares dropped 0.25% at RM7.85 as of 4.28pm, giving the banking group a market capitalisation of about RM88.02 bil.
