Roger Tan joins PBM’s ‘character assassination’ of president Larry Sng

SUSPENDED Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) supreme council member Datuk Roger Tan Seng Huat (main pic) has joined the chorus of attack against the party’s president Datuk Larry Sng in what seems to be an ‘orchestrated character assassination’ of the Julau MP and sole party victor in the recently concluded 15th General Election (GE15).

The PBM Klang member is the third PBM leader in a row to raise their voices of discontent over Sng abusing his authority after the party’s president-designate Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin and deputy president Haniza Talha.

The trio are among 11 PBM members who are still suspended and are believed to have yet to respond to the show cause letter issued by the party’s disciplinary committee.

The other eight members are Dr Daroyah Alwi, Rahimah Majid, Dr Sathiskumar Govindaraju, Muhammad Saiful Bahari Sahari, Na’im Brundage, Abdul Aziz Abdul Kadir, Zakaria Abdul Rahim and Albakri Salim.

As a PBM member and once the PBM Selangor deputy chairman, Tan said he was very upset with the actions and statements of Sng on matters involving the governance of this party.

“PBM was established with the pure aspiration to revolutionise the lives of the people through political channels in order to improve the standard of living of the people regardless of religion and race,” Tan pointed out in a media statement.

“As a result of Sng’s dishonesty, all the plans that had been made were disrupted with PBM having become a messy party in the eyes of the public due to his overly selfish attitude.”

Like Zuraida and Haniza, Tan also lamented that Sng has broken his promise by refusing to hand over the party’s presidency to Zuraida as per the decision made at PBM’s annual general meeting (AGM) on Oct 1 in which Sng himself was present and that the matter had been formally made known to the Registrar of Societies (ROS).

“Sng is not involved in any of the party’s work including all the welfare programmes implemented by PBM since December 2021,” Tan claimed. “Perhaps his ‘advice’ to other PBM leaders for self-reflection needs to be directed to himself given that he has acted as both a traitor to the party by not portraying any sense of camaraderie.”

Tan went on to forewarn political parties/coalitions who wish to have Sng on board to be wary of his “bad nature”.

“This kind of parasitic nature should not exist in any individual, let alone someone who holds a MP tittle,” cautioned Tan. “May Sng repent soon before karma retaliates for all his actions that have damaged an organisation that was established with noble and sacred intention.” – Dec 27, 2022
