UMNO Vice President and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail declared that the party is now enjoying a state of peace and unity following a recent “whitewashing” of its members.
Speaking at the Cameron Highlands Division UMNO Representative Meeting, Wan Rosdy expressed confidence that UMNO is well-positioned to secure more seats in the upcoming 16th General Election (GE).
“Our efforts to clean up the party have clearly paid off. The UMNO meeting and the MKT (Supreme Working Council) have shown significant improvement,” Wan Rosdy said.
He highlighted that the party’s internal harmony has been restored, thanks to the strategic changes implemented by UMNO President and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
At the meeting, which was also attended by former Pahang Menteri Besar Tan Sri Adnan Yaakob and other prominent figures, Wan Rosdy praised Zahid’s leadership.
“Our president is a hero to UMNO. Despite facing severe challenges, including calls from the Seventh Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad to dissolve the party, Zahid remained steadfast and optimistic,” Wan Rosdy remarked.
Wan Rosdy also noted the smooth running of UMNO branch meetings across the country, emphasising the enduring loyalty of UMNO members.
“We have seen no branch dissolution among the 21,000 branches nationwide. This proves that UMNO and the Malays still hold a strong bond,” he added.
In his speech, Wan Rosdy urged party members to stay focused and continue their efforts towards achieving electoral success.
“Failure is not an option. We need to overcome our internal issues and concentrate on our goal,” he said. – Aug 11, 2024
