Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today (Feb 18) on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM21.29 bil in the conventional system and RM13.51 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct two RM500 mil conventional market tenders for seven and 14 days respectively.

It will also conduct two Qard tenders worth RM1 bil for seven days and one RM1.3 bil for 14 days.

At 4pm, the BNM will conduct up to RM20.3 bil for a conventional overnight tender and RM11.2 bil for a Murabahah overnight tender. – Feb 18, 2020, Bernama
